After the DI Flurry
So after a flurry of events, things have subsided.
It has been nice to have a breather. Life will get hectic very soon.
We finalized the schedule for the children to visit relatives over the summer. E-mail or call Stacy for the details. Each year, Cecilia and Tristan visit the grandparents and their Aunt Suzy. In total, they visit for 6 weeks during the summer.
I view (and I believe Stacy does as well) with both excitement and regret. Cecilia is nine. That means that she is half way through her "minor" journey with us. I would rewind and do it all again if I could. And then, I look forward to watching her grow and mature. Global Finals will be a big step in her development.
Tristan is seven. He amazes me. We have been playing baseball outside. I had been pitching underhand to him. I started pitching overhand and adding some zip to the pitches. He stood in there and knocked the snot out of the ball. He is fearless and at times a bit reckless. He will be a great buddy. So one one hand, I like having my young son to play baseball. On the other hand, he will be a great man some day and it will be wonderful to be his friend. So I look forward to him growing and I regret it at the same time.
The summer is much like that. Stacy and I like the time to ourselves. We love the fact that our children will get to know their grandparents. But we regret giving up 6 weeks of our time together.
I have my "Walk to Emmaus" this weekend. I am ready. I found this link on the web - http://www.upperroom.org/emmaus/whatis/
I don't know anything about it except that I will be gone Friday through Sunday. If you have time, call Stacy to make sure that all is well. She will have the kids all weekend. Next weekend, Stacy goes on the "Walk".
That is all,
Mike
