New wheels

Stacy, Cecilia and Tristan purchased a gift certificate for me at
Cycle Works. While we were in Knoxville, I had Cycle Works tune my
bike. I also switched to slick tires.

I was told that slicks would make me a bit faster. This morning I was
able to bike from Riley to eSellerate in 17 minutes.

I will need to continue to bike seriously if I still want to make the
triathlon. While I was in Knoxville, I joined Bally's gym. Actually,
the hotel had a relationship with Bally's gym which was located
directly behind the hotel.

Both days, I jogged (on a treadmill) for 30 minutes at 6.1 mph at a
4% incline. I realize that treadmills are not the same as jogging but
that puts me at slightly over 3 miles in a 30 minute period.

Cecilia and Tristan leave next week for Denver. From May 23 to July
4, as a family we will have traveled to Denver, Knoxville,
Indianapolis, New York and Boston. Plus, I am sure that Stacy will
have traveled to numerous cities in Nebraska.

So back to the triathlon, with the kids visiting Suzy and Mark, I
will bike 20 KM after work (slightly over 12 miles - I need to think
metrically). The bike ride from work to home is roughly 4.5 M or 7.2
KM. I don't see any reason why I can't make that trip three times.

It will be good to work off some of the barbecue and cole slaw that I
had in Knoxville. I have not posted much about Globals. In large
part, Dr. Steen and the kids blogged wonderfully (riley.lps.org) but
read it quickly, or it might go away.

Riley Elementary is a gem of a school. The teachers at Riley are
passionate, committed and professional.

Mike
