A Prius needs gas

On the drive home from North Platte, our Prius ran out of gas. There is of course an irony in that.

Our van had a great feature which was that it would show mileage until empty. The Prius does not offer that. Also, the Prius notifies you when you have a one-half of a gallon remaining. That means that you have 20+ miles but... on the Interstate that mileage can go quickly.

So somewhere between near Aurora, the car died. We coasted. I thought that we might make the station on electricity but alas that ran out as well.

Roughly one mile from the Love's gas station south of Aurora, I started walking. Luckily, I was picked up by someone headed to Omaha. There are good people still left in this world.

After walking back to the car from the station, we mucked with our gas can. It was a bit fancy in that had a "carb". After determining how to release the gas we placed in the can, the car started and we drove to the gas station to finish filling the tank.
