tri a triathlon

Over the weekend, the kids participated in the Mayor's Run. Last
year, I tried to follow Tristan. as he ran his mile. I could not. I
was winded and tired roughly 1/4 of the way into the run.

On Saturday, I ran both miles with both children. Cecilia ran
slightly a 12:05 mile and Tristan ran 10:36. Both runs were fairly
easily for me.

Much has changed in the last year.

In the last few weeks, I have come to realize that I need discipline
in my life. I have seen the benefits of discipline already.
Unfortunately, I have never been a moral absolutists. I tend to be a
"ends justifies the means" person. While that mindset is changing for
me, I realize that I work better with goals in my life.

With that being said, I have decided to compete in a triathlon. It
appears that everything is lining up for me.

The Cornhusker state games has a triathlon on July 23, 2006. This
works with my schedule. It also gives me time to prepare. The cost
is only $29.
